Understanding Spondylitis

Spondylitis refers to a group of inflammatory diseases that affect the joints of the spine, causing chronic pain and stiffness. The most common form is ankylosing spondylitis, which primarily affects the spine and sacroiliac joints, potentially leading to fusion of vertebrae over time.

• Chronic pain and stiffness in the lower back and hips
• Pain that worsens with inactivity and improves with exercise
